The latest iPhone release was announced on Monday along with details about the latest iPad Pro (9.7 inch diagonal size) and a variety of bands for the Apple watch.

Screen size

The screen is a 4-inch retina display going back to the original Apple mantra for compact smartphones and is similar in size and shape to the iPhone 5S.

Processor

The iPhone SE boasts a 64-bit A9 chipset which is the same found in iPhone 6S and 6S plus. With a 1.8GHz dual-core processor and 2GB RAM, we are promised a superior and powerful all-round performance. Also embedded in the A9 chipset is the M9 motion co-processor that connects to fitness and motion-related apps.

Camera

The primary camera is a 12MP iSight camera along with ability to shoot 4K videos. The front camera comes with retina flash and HD. Live photos, dual-LED flash and and True Tone flash for selfies are some other great features.

Others

Touch ID and 4G LTE speeds make this many steps above the iPhone 5S. The software version is IOS 9.3.

The price of the base model of 16GB is US$399 (approx. Dh1,465) and the 64GB version will be available for US$499 (approx. Dh1,835).
