1. Release date

If you would like to pre-order your iPhone, you can officially start doing so on September 9. However they will begin shipping it starting from September 16, since 16 is the actual release date. It will be available in 28 countries including the UAE.

Etisalat will offer iPhone 7, the most powerful phone, beginning on 17 September, 2016. Customers can pre-order iPhone 7 beginning on 9 September, 2016 (11.00am local time) at www.etisalat.ae/iphone7. For more information on iPhone, please visit: apple.com/iPhone

2. Cost of the iPhone 7

32GB - $649 (Approximately Dh2, 400)

128GB - $749 (Approximately Dh2, 800)

256GB - $849 (Approximately Dh3, 117)

3. Dirt and water resistant

This is where Apple wanted to really compete with Samsung and give users peace of mind if they are near water or dirt. You may take your new iPhone into the shower or roll around in the sand and everything should be fine.

4. Colour options

The latest iPhone colours include:

  • White
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Rose Gold
  • Black
  • Jet Black

Jet Black is the newest addition to the colours, which is a more prominent slightly darker shade of black, than the one we are used to. Additionally, bad news for those who are fans of the grey. Apple has decided to discontinue their Space Grey colour. The style is its usual sleek look, with a rounded design. However it is slightly lighter than its predecessors. About 6 grams lighter.

5. New sound system

A really cool feature of the iPhone 7 are the stereo speakers. One speaker is at the top and one at the bottom of the phone. The results are louder and clearer sound. Perfect for those who want to listen to music, watch music or game on their new device.

6. What’s with the jack?

It’s actually gone! The headphone jack is nonexistent on the new iPhone. Some people are freaking out about the prospect of losing their new “air pods” (what apple has called their new wireless ear buds) but fear not; when buying your new iPhone, it comes with a special adaptor that you can plug into your phone, which would still allow you to use your wire earphones. The new apple “air pods” will cost you extra. The AirPods offer five hours of listening on a single charge. They have dual microphones, which means you can take phone calls and speak with Siri.

7. Two cameras?

The rumors of the dual camera is not in fact true for the iPhone 7, but only applicable to the iPhone 7 plus, which is not our focus at the moment. The iPhone 7 has a more improved camera, with 12 MP in the back camera and 5MP to 7 MP for the front camera. This can only mean one thing; high definition selfies. The wide-space lens on the back lets in 50% more light, and is 60% faster and is quite energy efficient.

8. Battery life

The iPhone 7 has a longer lasting battery life, two hours longer than the iPhone 6. In Fact, the iPhone 7 has the best battery life out of any of their phones.
