Dubai: With Ramadan less than one month away, retail outlets have already started sprawling out their special offers on food items, which can at times, be too overwhelming to remember.
The Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai has just the right app to help you save smartly this Ramadan.
The DED’s app ‘Sallety’ (My Cart), provides residents with real time information on prices to help compare products from across nine leading hypermarkets on their smart phones. According to previous media reports, the food and commodity price monitoring system used to be updated every 24 hours but now, the DED has linked Sallety to the IT network of supermarkets to reflect price variations instantly.
Residents can use DED app to compare prices from across nine different hypermarekts during Ramadan shopping.
In an earlier statement, the DED said: “Sallety.ae brings fast-growing Internet and mobile technology closer to our daily lives. Since the UAE has a high broadband and smart phone penetration rate, Sallety.ae will be a handy shopping option for a significant section of the resident population."
With the app, consumers can also compare prices for products, ranging from vegetables and detergents to tea and baby products in these hypermarekts across Dubai: Union Coop, Spinneys, Carrefour, LuLu, Emirates Co-op, Hyper Panda, Choitrams, Aswaaq and Al Maya.
In a previous statement, the DED had announced that over 40,000 consumers are currently using Sallety to get information on goods and prices. The app also assists consumers to submit complaints in instances of commercial fraud or an unreasonable hike in prices.
