ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced that the first and second days of Eid Al Fitr will be paid holidays for private sector employees.

The Eid Al Fitr holiday for staff at government ministries and departments will begin on Saturday, June 24, or the 29th day of Ramadan, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced.

The ministry’s announcement came in a ministerial circular issued by Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, pursuant to the provisions of Article 74 of Federal Law No. 08 for 1980 regarding the regulation of labour relations, as amended, which determines the holiday of the private sector as the first and second day of the month of Shawwal.

Ghobash congratulated President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, on the upcoming Eid Al Fitr.

The minister also congratulated the UAE citizens and residents on the occasion, wishing the country further progress and prosperity, and more pride and glory for Arab and Islamic nations.
