The 24-year old American singer, songwriter and former child actress is the most followed person on Instagram with a whopping 96.3 million with her latest post garnering 2.3 million likes. She also has the photo with the most likes (5.4 million), out of all of the photos of more than 500 million users of Instagram.
2. Taylor Swift
This pop-singer is on all of them lists! She is the highest-earning celebrity at an estimated US $170 million (approximately Dh62.5 billion) as per the Forbes 2016 report released earlier this year. She has 89.4 million followers and mainly posts selfies, photos of celebrations with celebrity friends, photos of her home and pets as well as performance and behind the scenes photos of her tours.
3. Ariana Grande
Another former Nickelodeon star, Ariana Grande has 82.5 million followers on her Instagram account which has mostly selfies and music posters. She has been lauded for her voice range and has been compared to Mariah Carey who is reported to have influenced her style in her debut album.
4. Beyonce
Queen B as she is known by fans has been around longer than her contemporaries on this list. She is very close behind Grande with 82.4 million followers and she mostly shares selfies, professional photos of her performances and looks, as well as family photos featuring her husband Jay Z and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
5. Kim Kardashian West
The reality TV star has always been in the top ranked for followers on Instagram and is one of the top five at 80.6 million followers. Her posted photos are mostly professionally taken and many feature her husband Kanye West and her children North West and Saint West.
