Simply Italian has recently launched a new menu that showcases dishes from the different regions of Italy. Located at the beautiful beachfront destination, Club Vista Mare on the Palm Jumeirah, the venue gives off a very romantic vibe. Candles were lit on every table and the wooden chairs and tables, gave Simply Italian a very rustic feel. The feeling is very Mediterranean and coast-like.
We started the meal off with freshly baked focaccia bread, which was the perfect mixture of soft and crunchy. This went along perfectly with the salmon tartar which was presented with Avocado cubes and was phenomenal. It stood out as my favourite appetiser of the bunch. The rest included a grilled octopus and a selection of tempura vegetables and calamari. Who knew I would love fried zucchini so much?
We then asked our server to recommend a light pasta and main course to share. We enjoyed a homemade Raviolo stuffed with Burrata, zucchini and marjoram. It was creamy and delicious without being heavy at all.
Then we waited for the star dish, which was a purple potato crusted seabass with a saffron sauce. The fish was cooked very well and the potatoes added a nice flavour to the dish. For people who like a carb heavy option, this may not be the best option for you, however it is a great meal for the light eaters out there.
We finished our meal with a Tiramisu cake in a jar and left feeling like we ate just the right amount of food.
