The London Social is Dubai’s newest brunch at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai, celebrating the diverse gastronomic excellence of England’s most populous and one of the world’s most popular foodie destinations: London. Once you arrive, you are invited to embark on a journey through London’s major tube stations to indulge in the culinary delicacies that can be found in the various districts of the proudly multicultural city.
As a huge fan of the city, I was naturally very excited to try the different cuisines associated with the different boroughs of London. I am always a little worried about buffet brunches, since quality seems to take a back seat, however this was not the case at London Social.
We chose to sit outside in the terrace, which featured a live duo performance of old and new British classics. I couldn’t stop singing along.
The food hall is divided up into several different cuisines including traditional British Roasts along with Italian, Caribbean, Arabic, Indian, Japanese and Chinese dishes all tweaked and enhanced to reflect London’s unique style. We cannot forget the dessert section, which displayed both traditional British sweeties, Mr. Whippy ice cream, classic pick and mix favorites and modern takes on what the Brits like to call pudding.
The London Social is undoubtedly a foodie’s paradise, with spices of Banglatown, Brixton, and Little Beirut, to the vibrant stalls of Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Borough Market. Of course, a tour of London would not be complete without a nod to Britain’s favorite pub classics.
All over the restaurant walls are images of British icons, London paraphernalia and of course a legendary red telephone box. With the British themes and no shortage of British people around, the brunch was just the right way to slide into the weekend.
