It's the Chinese New Year on Friday, February 16 and major venues across the country are decked in red.

What we are really looking forward to is the record-breaking IMAGINE laser, fire and water show at Dubai Festival City Mall. In what they are calling 'Festival Bay turns red', the area will literally turn into the Chinese colour of joy and fortune. The show will run every hour from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.

Sofitel the Palm Dubai has launched a new Saturday morning offer to really spur on the ‘New Year, New You’ efforts of Dubai-dwellers and hotel guests alike. Visitors can access their spa facilities as well as the gym and partake in a peaceful yet challenging yoga class on the beach and top things off with a nutritious breakfast. The 9.30am yoga class will be led by Diggy, who is an expert in yoga and will take place on the property’s 500 meter, pristine, white sand beach for an hour before breakfast is served in Olivier’s lobby lounge.
