Dubai’s the city of fast cars and speed freaks, so the next time you order an Uber, don’t be surprised if you’re picked up in a flashy Bugatti.

New York-based YouTube star Coby Persin did just that recently, when he took over a friend’s Uber account for the day and picked up customers along Sheikh Zayed Road.

Dubai’s Ubers are usually Lexus limousines or Toyota Previa vans, so you can imagine the customers’ reactions when Persin drove up in a canary yellow and chrome Bugatti Veyron instead.

It was one customer’s first time using an Uber, so not only did he have to take a selfie, he wanted to know if Persin would come back afterwards to pick him up afterwards.

Another customer wanted to know how fast the car could go – and Persin obliged. Her reactions were pretty spectacular.

The video has been viewed two million times since it was uploaded six days ago.

Persin, a 21-year-old who describes himself as a social experimenter and prankster on YouTube, has previously staged events to draw attention to legal child marriage – in Times Square, no less – as well as the plight of the homeless and the dangers of Trick or Treating.

He was reportedly in Dubai at the invitation of Rashid Saif Belhasa, the son of Saif Ahmed Belhasa, one of the UAE’s most successful businessmen.

The car sharing app has provided the perfect set-up for pranks before. In March, a man dressed as Batman picked up customers in a Lamborghini Aventador, while talk show host Jay Leno went undercover in October last year to promote his TV show, Jay Leno’s Garage.

GN Focus reached out to Persin via Twitter, but has yet to receive a response. This story will be updated to reflect any response.
