Barely Lethal

This is a chick flick with a difference: this time the chicks are the ones beating up the bad guys. This film has got girl power written all over it. When 16-year-old Megan wants to leave her life as a trained assassin to become a normal school girl the ‘hardman’ (played by Samuel L. Jackson) who taught her is not happy. She quickly learns that she is being watched and is wanted to go back to her ‘killing routes’ and leave high school. Obviously Megan (played by Hailee Steinfeld) tries her hardest to retaliate, but will it work? For a teen movie that’s got more bite than ballads check out Barely Lethal this weekend.

Tracers

Talk about edge of your seat: you might need a sick bag for this movie if you’re scared of heights and are a little jumpy. The act of parkour is put to its test in this new Taylor Lautner movie set literally on the skyscrapers of New York City. Seems he’ll do anything for a quick buck, including almost getting killed and killing. A welcome return from Lautner, this fast-paced, quick-moving film is well worth a watch.

Pudsey The Dog — The Movie

Who doesn’t love a film about a talking dog? Especially when the dog is voiced by funny Englishman David Walliams. If you have ever seen the TV show Britain’s Got Talent you may well recognise this dog as the winner of the show in 2012. Simon Cowell (the man behind said TV show) is behind this with his company Syco Entertainment. Cashing in on their TV fame? Why not? It provides some laughs and the kids will enjoy it.

Age Of Adaline

Blake Lively makes an impressive lead debut in this new romantic drama. She plays Adaline, a woman who, after a nasty car accident, doesn’t get any older. Not a bad deal, you’d think, no-one wants to grow old, do they? But when it comes to finding love she realises that without being able to grow old with somebody, what is love? Lively is impressive as Adaline and there is a strong cameo too from Harrison Ford. It’s good to see Lively back on the big screen in this moving tale of growing up without growing old.
