Director Subhash Ghai, whose film production company Mukta Arts responsible for hits such as Ram Lakhan, Karz, Khalnayak and Taal, celebrated its 36th anniversary on Friday.
Named after the 69-year-old director-producer’s wife Mukta Rahane, the company has produced 41 Bollywood films so far.
“36th anniversary today of Mukta Arts. Produced 41 films with 15 films directed by me. still going still strong. My gratitude to all in Mukta,” Ghai tweeted. “Mukta arts produced its first film Karz in 1978 and produced many big blockbusters in the next 30 years out of which many are being remade in 2015,” he added.
Ghai added that the muhurat (first) shot of all films produced under the banner of Mukta Arts take place on this date (October 24).
“Mahurat of every movie by Mukta Arts took place on October 24, which happens to be the day I got married to Mukta Rehana. Blessed,” he tweeted.
Other films produced by the company include Hero, Karma, Pardes, Yaadein, Iqbal, Joggers Park, Apna Sapna Money Money, Kisna and Aitraaz among others.
Kaanchi, which released earlier this year, is the latest Mukta Arts production.
