Mumbai: Actress Konkona Sen Sharma walked the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) winter-festive 2014 catwalk on Thursday in a metallic sari with yellow-gold and rust-gold blocking teamed with a gold metallic blouse as a the celebrity model for designer Anavila Mishra.

The sari, part of the designer’s Mohenjo Daro collection, was draped like a dhoti. With minimal make-up and with a bronze neckpiece, the Page 3 actress looked stunning.

She was “thrilled” and said: “I am not really closely associated with Lakme but I am very fond of Anavila’s collections. I admire her work and her collections go with my sensibilities.

“Her collections are subtle and rustic, which is inspired from history. I am feeling great wearing this.”

Sen said she has been busy writing a script and says she hopes to direct soon.

“I was busy doing a Bengali film. I also did couple of Hindi films and I will be doing Meghna Gulzar’s next. I was busy with my little toddler and I am also writing a script,” the actress said.

When asked if that means that she will soon direct a film and follow in her mother Aparna Sen’s footsteps, she said: “Let’s see. I would like to hopefully soon.”

Mohenjo Daro is a blend of saris with shirt blouses, loose kurtis and the use of techniques such as block printing and ikat. The highlight was the handwork on the hand-woven textiles.

The ongoing fashion week, which started Tuesday, will conclude Sunday.
