British electronic pop duo Pet Shop Boys will perform at Sandance Dubai on May 9.

If Hollywood blockbuster franchise The Fast & The Furious is taking Abu Dhabi by storm, can its glitzy, musical cousin Bollywood be far behind?

tabloid! has learnt that Indian A-listers Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif are planning to film their action thriller Bang Bang in the capital next month.

According to industry sources, the pair — whose chemistry was showcased splendidly in blockbuster, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara — will be in Abu Dhabi on a three-week shooting schedule. The pair is expected to arrive in the UAE on May 1 to film the official re-make of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz film Knight and Day. The shooting for Bang Bang, directed by Siddharth Anand, has already begun in India with Roshan and Kaif spotted hard at work in Delhi and Shimla.

An official announcement from the stars is awaited. However, in an interview in March, Twofour54 CEO, Noura Al Kaabi, told tabloid! they were in talks with Indian production houses and had another, undisclosed international production coming up this year. Although details were not divulged. But something tells us that luring the Bang Bang crew to Abu Dhabi is a great way to announce the capital’s foray into Bollywood film production.

After the stellar success of the Roshan-Kaif pairing in 2011 road romance ZNMD, Bollywood fans are eagerly awaiting for their reunion. Their professional lives are not the only things making headlines; while Roshan recently announced his separation from wife Sussanne Khan (who launched a property project in the UAE last month), Kaif is busy denying rumours of impending marriage with her on-off boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
