Bakers, fill your piping bags: The closing date for registration to enter the Cake Boss-judged contest in Abu Dhabi is July 31.
Buddy Valastro, the American cake decorator and star of Cake Boss, will cast his judgement on the cakes of the UAE on August 9 at Emirates Palace in the capital.
The contest is part of Abu Dhabi Summer Season. Entry to the cake decorating competition is free. It’s open to both non-professionals and cake shops and bakeries professionals. Prizes include a trip to New York to see Valastro’s bakery (professionals only) and stays at the hotel.
Creations go on display on August 9 at Emirates Palace. The event is part of the Cake Boss Live show with Valastro; tickest are available at ticketmaster.ae and all Virgin Megastores, Dh150 for adults, Dh75 for children; those under two years of age enter free.
