Bollywood glamour will meet high fashion at a brand new event in Dubai next month. On September 4 and 5, India Fashion Week, a ‘fashion-meets-film extravaganza’ will see some of the country’s biggest names in design showcase their collections, modelled by celebrities, at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
Indian actress Bipasha Basu and Sri Lanka beauty Jacqueline Fernandez have already confirmed. Organisers said more stars will be announced closer to the event. Top designers Ritu Beri, Vikram Phadnis, Shane and Falguni Peacock, Archana Kochhar, Jaya Misra, Ashima Leena and Pria Kataria Puri will be among 30 showcasing their latest collections.
Besides the show, the event will also feature exhibitions by the designers as well as UAE-based fashion designers and retailers. Choreographers Lubna Adam and Shakir Shaikh will direct the shows.
