Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor is in talks to purchase the rights of the hit TV series Modern Family and adapt for to Indian tastes, he told tabloid! on Friday.

“It just happened. Everything is being discussed and negotiations are on. The viewers took to my 24 so well, that I want to see how they take to my Modern Family and its humour,” said Kapoor on the sidelines of the third day of Dubai International Film Festival (Diff).

Kapoor, along with the stars of UAE-set Welcome Back, including John Abraham and producer Firoz Nadiadwala, were preparing for a public question-and-answer session entitled In Conversation With … later that afternoon.

“I have a good feeling about it,” said Kapoor. It’s his fourth visit to Diff. He screened films Mr India in the first Diff in 2004, and later Slumdog Millionaire and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol along with Tom Cruise.

“Diff is my lucky mascot. All those three films were hugely successful. It’s one lucky turf for me,” said Kapoor.

Meanwhile, John Abraham, who plays a stylish gangster in Welcome Back, was hoping to catch a few good movies at his first Diff outing.

“I was looking forward to The Theory Of Everything. I want to see as many different films as I can,” said Abraham.

Director Anees Bazmee also confirmed to tabloid! that UAE-set drama Welcome Back will premiere in Dubai in May 2015.

“How can we not? We have shot our film here and it would be a disservice not to finish the project here,” said Bazmee.
