Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and King Mohammad VI of Morocco, attended a spectacular musical titled “How Lucky is My Nation” that was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, to mark the UAE’s 43rd National Day.
The national operetta was held under the patronage of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the emirates, Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla of Umm Al Quwain and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, attended the national event.
The event was also attended by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Shaikh Rashid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain.
The musical was performed by the Abu Dhabi Musical Band at the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee. The event featured an array of traditional shows and performances highlighting the nation’s glory amid a prevailing atmosphere of patriotic fervour and values of sacrifice.
The event, designed to celebrate the spirt of the union for the country’s glorious national occasion and to demonstrate the joy of the UAE people on this red letter day.
The first batch of national military service recruits, who have recently completed the basic training, inaugurated the event with a show of national loyalty. The show thrilled crowds with breathtaking displays and high degree of preparedness and pride. Around six Apache helicopters carried UAE flags up in the sky.
Additionally, a group of Emirati singers also performed a national operetta to express their gratitude to the UAE and its leaders and to highlight the nation’s glory.
The event also saw a symbolic military parade of some modern weapons, equipment and machinery of different kinds of land, sea, and air weapons and defence aid systems, which recently entered into service.
