Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched 50 smart kiosks at 23 Dubai Metro stations on the Red and Green Lines.
The large touchscreen kiosks offer, among other services, interactive maps of the Metro station sites, timetables, fare calculation methods, passenger rules, videos, and the procedure for filing complaints.
The kiosks have an area designated for displaying commercial advertisements and notices to riders, and are designed to display information in Arabic and English.
Abdullah Yousuf Al Ali, CEO of the RTA’s Rail Agency, said: “The launch of the Metro information kiosks conforms to the vision of the senior leadership of Dubai to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world within three years. We have therefore opted to launch this smart service which comprises a host of diverse services offering Metro users a full account about Metro use and the smooth mobility between stations.”
