Dubai: European luxury hotel chain, Warwick International Hotels, is looking to open three properties in Saudi Arabia, Jamal Serhan, the company’s CEO for the Middle East and North Africa, told Gulf News in an interview.
While Serhan did not provide opening dates for the properties, he said that they would open in Jeddah, Dammam and Riyadh.
The company, which has two hotels each in Jordan and Lebanon, made a foray into the UAE with the soft opening of a 357-room hotel on Shaikh Zayed Road in Dubai on Monday (the official opening is expected to be in about two months’ time). More properties are planned for this year, including one each in Qatar, Lebanon and Iraq, which are set to open between June and August. The new hotels will bring the total number of properties in the Middle East to eight.
“Our intention is to have 15 properties [in the region] by the end of 2015,” he said.
Established in 1980, Warwick International has more than 50 properties in 20 countries worldwide.
Meanwhile, Warwick International is looking to have hotels in North Africa. All of its properties in the Middle East are under management agreements.
Serhan, however, declined to comment on revenue forecasts for this year.
