Dubai: The 23rd edition of the Dubai International Boat Show taking place in March this year will see participation from boat manufacturing hubs, such as Australia and China as luxury spending in the region grows.

Consumption of luxury goods in the Middle East climbed 11 per cent last year, the show’s organiser the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) said, citing a report by consultancy Bain & Co. The global luxury market rose 5 per cent to an estimated €223 billion (Dh952 billion), with spending on yachts up 2 per cent.

The show, which will run March 3-7, will feature Italy’s Genial Yachts and Comar Yachts for the first time, as well as Bel Monte Boats from Luxembourg and SAY Yachts, a catamaran and sailing yacht designer from Germany.

There will also be new countries exhibiting, including Luxembourg, Indonesia and Spain, according to DWTC.
