Dubai: Hardcore gamers will be able to pre-order Microsoft’s Xbox One console for a limited period from July 16 to August 28.

The device will be officially launched in the UAE on September 5.

“Consumers will now have the option to pre-order one of two official Xbox One bundles, including five games at no additional cost — Forza Motorsport 5, EA Sports Fifa 15, Halo Spartan Assault, Max “Curse of the Brotherhood” and Lococyle,” Aman Sangar, interactive entertainment business category lead at Microsoft Middle East and Africa, told Gulf News.

He said that most of the retailers are accepting the pre orders and only pre-ordered customers will receive the device on September 5.

“The supply is going to be limited and this bundle offer is an incentive for buyers in the UAE. No one can get this offer anywhere in the world,” said Kishan Deepak Palija, Managing Director of Geekay Games.

He said that each game costs around Dh299. It is a steal and will be not available for all the consoles. It is for limited pre-order stocks only.

“We will know the demand only after a few days. The pre-ordering has just started. Definitely demand will be there for the device as it is bundled with free games,” Palija said.

The standalone Xbox One console will be available for Dh1749, which features a 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray player and built-in Wi-Fi — one Xbox One Wireless Controller and a free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold for new members.

The Xbox One with Kinect at Dh2,199. Fans choosing this version will be able experience a number of games and entertainment experiences exclusive to Xbox including gesture controls, biometric sign-in, controller paring, Skype video calls, instant personalisation, instant scanning of QR codes, and enhanced features.

According to research firm NPD Group’s May sales report, Sony’s PlayStation 4 outsold Microsoft’s Xbox One for the fifth consecutive month.

In fact, the latest reports show that PS4 sales top 9 million while the Xbox One reached 5 million.

According to Michael Pachter, video game and electronic media analyst at Wedbush Securities, PS4 will sell 37.7 million consoles by end of 2016 while Xbox One will reach only 29 million units.
