Abu Dhabi: Etisalat launched today a new “Global Data Plan” that offers post-paid mobile customers the convenience of local data, roaming data and unlimited Wi-Fi in a single package.
It includes 10 GB data for local use, 1 GB of roaming data, unlimited local Wi-Fi and unlimited roaming eWiFi for Dh500 per month. 1 GB roaming data included in the plan can be used on etisalat’s extensive network of 248 preferred roaming partners in 106 countries.
Khalid Al Khouly, Chief Marketing Officer at etisalat, said, “We have accounted for the high volume of data our customers use when they travel. Therefore, we launched a plan that offers convenience of use and at the same time, helps prevent bill shocks due to accidental use of local mobile data abroad.
Customers can subscribe to the new plan by sending an SMS — “CDP” — to 1010 or by dialling *170*10#, and check their data balance for local as well as roaming allowances by dialling *170*1#. The plan is available on a minimum three-month commitment.
