Dubai: The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority’s (Shurooq) road show kicked off in Beijing, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The road show, which runs between April 14 and 22, aims to highlight Sharjah’s business potential and its investment and tourist offerings, as well as looking for ways to enhance investment partnerships between Sharjah and China.

According to Marwan Bin Jasem Al Sarkal, Shurooq’s CEO, Chinese investment bodies and companies have expressed their interest in increasing cooperation in various sectors, including renewable energy and tourism, as well as entering into economic and investment partnerships with the emirate’s public sector.

Trade between China and the UAE, including imports and exports, reached Dh78.6 billion during the first half of 2013, marking a 14 per cent increase.
