Dubai: Holidaymakers from UAE who make an effort to arrive early at the airport prior to departure can avail themselves of some great discounts.

Travellers can enjoy some money-saving deals at a number of restaurants and get the chance to win a prize, it was announced on Monday. They can also get some discounts while indulging in a spa treatment before boarding the plane.

The Dubai Airports and Emirates Leisure Retail has just launched a joint initiative called Early Birds Have More Fun, which aims to help passengers kick-start their summer holidays at Dubai International Airport with discounts at several world-class restaurants, as well as live entertainment and competitions for the family.

Passengers are advised to download the offers from www.earlybirdshavemorefun.com to avail themselves of some discounts.

Offers include up to 25 per cent off at Emirates Leisure Retail’s restaurants, as well as up to 25 per cent off spa treatments at Be Relax and a chance to win a family trip to The Residence Maldives by Cenizaro from dnata Travel.

As part of Dubai Airport’s ongoing musicDXB initiative, passengers will also be treated to live performances over the peak summer travel period.

In a survey conducted by YouGov, more than six in ten (67 per cent) of UAE travellers said their holidays start by the time they reach the airport.

“[The survey] is further evidence that the airport experience is a fundamental part of the holiday experience, which is why we’re constantly introducing new and exciting ways to engage, entertain and delight our passengers,” said Matthew Horobin, director for brand engagement at Dubai Airports.

“It also revealed that some passengers are unaware of many of Dubai International’s more recent facilities and services, like the dedicated Kids’ Zone to let children blow off steam, and a major upgrade to provide the world’s best airport Wi-Fi. Combined with the amazing special offers this summer, there are plenty of reasons for passengers to arrive early and get their holidays off to a flyer.”
