Dubai: Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (Dafza), on Wednesday approved the body’s digital intelligence plan for 2018 to 2020.

The plan, developed in partnership with Deloitte Consulting, focuses on three main area — Dafza’s operational model, its ICT services, and a revamp of its technology platform.

Shaikh Ahmad said the plan was in line with Dubai’s Internet of Things Strategy and the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence.

Dr Mohammad Al Zarooni, director-general of Dafza, said, “We look forward to turning Dafza into an innovative, world-class freezone based on a scientific methodology and a clear vision for achieving ambitious goals and aspirations driven by advanced and future technologies. We aim to boost the development process and take a steady step towards shaping future in the UAE.”

Dafza said in a press statement that its operational model would be built on a foundation of managed services, partnerships and resources, efficient upgrading of human capital skills, as well as increasing revenues through ICT services.

Dafza would introduce new ICT mechanisms using new technologies and various points of contact to help provide unique services to customers.

And its platform revamp would focus on providing services without compromising cybersecurity, through the establishment of an integrated defence system to effectively address the threats and challenges of modern technology.
