The connected worker service might take some time to reach in Asian countries, while in western countries especially in the US, France, and Germany it will be a fast process owing to the presence of early adopters of connected technology, industry experts said.

However, Natasha Bhiwgade, research associate at MarketsandMarkets, added that political turmoil, especially in the US, may affect globalisation, which may also impact manufacturing process of smart gadgets and solutions in most of the industries.

Furthermore, technical design, usage analysis, security, and privacy are some of the issues acting as a hindrance in implementation of connected worker technology across the globe, she said.

“As both employees and employers are concerned about the protection of their personal data, it is necessary for a connected worker solution provider to maintain a high level of data security especially for workers personal data,” she said.

With the advent of technology and advantages associated with the present, connected worker ecosystem such as easy in usage, power efficiency, and ability to operate in both online and offline modes are driving the market for connected worker globally.

With such advantages, Bhiwgade said that adoption of connected worker products and solution will increase at a faster rate in coming years, resulting in improved lives of worker and company’s competitive landscape.

However, she said that connected worker is a significant element in achieving break through results in an industrial environment. It not only reduces the risk of data loss and cost but also increases efficacy at the workplace.

Experts believe that implementation of connected worker technology could boost the productivity and efficiency by up to 50 per cent.
