Dubai: There's a surprise sale happening this weekend in Dubai that may offer the biggest discount yet.
Budget-savvy shoppers who missed the three-day exclusive sale can try their luck this Friday, provided they wake up early and keep an eye out for social media alerts.
The promotion, valid for one day only, is part of the ongoing Dubai Summer Surprises, and shoppers could get up to 90 per cent off the merchandise.
And unlike in the standard DSS or 72-hour sale, organisers are not disclosing in advance which brands are participating or which mall to go to. Such information will only be announced just a few hours before or on the day the sale is supposed to take place, hence the name of the promotion is “Friday Surprise.”
“This offer is valid while stocks last and is only on for a limited period of time each Friday at a specific retail location,” organisers said.
To keep themselves up to date, bargain hunters are advised to follow @DSSSocial on Twitter or Instagram, so that when the surprise sale is announced, they’re at the ready.
Retailers participating in the Friday Surprise promotion are expected to be extra generous. Last Friday, shoppers were treated up to 90 per cent off at Home Centre on selected items.
Another participating merchant, Wojooh, surprised shoppers with discounts up to 70 per cent off when they bought five items at the beauty shop in Mall of the Emirates. The one-day sale proved to be a hit, with the beauty retailer reporting that its sales of the day doubled, while footfall numbers increased by a whopping 190 per cent.
