DUBAI: Fashion site Sivvi.com is looking to add new brands this year and is considering an entry into Egypt, according to its founder, Rashid Al Abbar.

The site currently features around 140 brands, but by the end of this year, it looks to add up to 20 more. The company may add a home decor category, Al Abbar said.

“Our number one objective is to grow the business …[we are] growing the business by expanding the categories and the number of brands we have,” Al Abbar told reporters in Dubai on Tuesday.

He said that the company is investing more in “brands that work” and marketing. “We invest a lot in brands that make money,” he added. He declined to give financial details.

Sivvi.com attracts around 1 million users per month. Transactions on the site are growing by 15 per cent month-on-month, Al Abbar said.

Besides focusing on growth in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Sivvi.com “has plans going into larger geographies such as Egypt,” Al Abbar said.

When asked about plans to enter Iran, Al Abbar said he is not actively looking at the market at the moment.

He pointed out that e-commerce in the UAE is growing, despite lower oil prices.
