Cairo: Egypt will issue international bonds in October or November, the Deputy Finance Minister for Treasury Mohamed Meait told Reuters on Monday.

In August Egypt had asked JPMorgan, Citi, BNP Paribas and Natixis to lead manage its international bond offer. Egypt’s government approved earlier that month an international bond issuance of between $3 billion and $5 billion.

Meanwhile, Egypt will request a meeting of the International Monetary Fund’s executive board within days after meeting the requirements for a $12 billion loan.
