Abu Dhabi: The UAE, Under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has made advanced leaps towards building a strong base for the defence industry utilising Emirati talent, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said yesterday.
Shaikh Mohammad made these remarks on the occasion of Tawazun Economic Council’s celebration of Silver Jubilee (25th anniversary).
In a series of tweets, Shaikh Mohammad said “ We congratulate Tawazun Economic Council on its Silver Jubilee. Innovative industrial defence is vital to building a robust economy”
“Building strong human capacity and the quality of Tawazun’s products are major factors in boosting the UAE’s competitive edge globally”, Shaikh Mohammad tweeted.
Earlier last week, Tawazun hosted a ceremony to celebrate its 25th anniversary, where it announced that over the past 25 years, the Council enabled creation of more than 90 companies and investment vehicles, covering 11 sectors, including defence manufacturing. These companies play a vital role in boosting economic growth in the UAE.
The council contributes to realising the Abu Dhabi Government’s Vision 2030 through its initiative for the transfer of technology and technical know-how, development of infrastructure, capacity building and promoting innovative research in industrial domains, in line with the leadership’s vision to equip future generations with the necessary skills and knowledge for the future.
