Dubai: Saif Al Khaili Group will invest more than Dh280 million in two manufacturing facilities at Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad), the two announced on Sunday.

The first facility will be built in the mixed use cluster over an overall area of 1,102234 square feet. The facility, a chemical producing plant, will be the first in the country to produce caustic soda and other chlorine derivatives that is used in the aluminium, oil, steel and chemical sectors. It is expected to have a production capacity of 400,000 tonnes per year.

Siemens has landed the contract to design what will be the ‘Emirates Chemical Factory’, according to the Saif Al Khaili Group and Kizad statement.

The second facility will be a food processing plant in the food cluster over a 284,435 square foot area. The manufacturing facility will produce ready-made meals for industrial catering, capable of producing 70,000 meals per day.

The agreement was signed by Saif Al Khaili, Saif Al Khaili Group chairman, and Khalid Salmeen, Kizad chief executive.

Saif Al Khaili Group operates in the hospitality, information technology and health care services, oil and gasfield services, military and security equipment trading and chemicals sectors.
