Following are some of the details of Meydan One unveiled on Monday night.

Location: Between Meydan (where the world's richest horse-racing is held) and Al Khail Road.

Area: 3.67 million square metres, led by Meydan City Corporation, according to a company statement on Monday.

Value: Not stated.

Phase One: The first phase of the development is set to be completed before 2020, according to the statement. It did not state the exact completion date.

Tower: The Dubai One, expected to be the world’s tallest residential tower, and its integrated podium, incorporate 350,000 sqm of gross floor area, 885 residential apartments and a five-star hotel featuring 350 rooms.

Other features: Conference centre, an observation deck at 655m high, a sky restaurant at 675m high, a plaza view restaurant and terrace, as well as the Meydan One Marina Yacht Club. the project will feature a dancing fountain, said to be the world’s largest at more than 420m in length; a 300m long beach; a civic plaza that is expected to welcome 60,000 people, and a heritage village.                                              

Ski slope: Sports enthusiasts will have access to an indoor ski slope, expected to be the world’s longest at 1.2 kilometres; an indoor multi-purpose sport facility measuring 25,000 sqm; over 5.3km bicycle and jogging trails and a 9km boardwalk.

Residents: Once completed, it is expected to be home to over 78,300 residents.

Arena: At the base of the ski slope will be the Meydan Arena, which can seat up to 8,000 people. It will host sporting events, live concerts and theatrical shows. Some of the outdoor sport options include football pitches, mountain biking, walking and running trails, a skateboard park and a BMX park.

Sports facilities: The multi-purpose sports facility will offer a range of sports including tennis, football, basketball, volleyball, squash, indoor cricket, mixed martial arts, softball, a baseball batting cage, lacrosse, golf and hockey.

Water features: Visitors to the civic plaza will get to see a floating stage, fountains and a waterfall. The 420m fountain will include light laser shows with digital screens for events like civic gatherings, concerts, UAE National Day, food festivals, as well as sport and fashion shows.

Beach: Visitors to the beach, which is located adjacent to the aqua marine Crystal Lagoons, will get to do everything from swimming and sea kayaking to playing volleyball and having access to a new Water Park, beach bar and restaurants.
