Dubai: Apple fans can get their hands on the new iPhones from the retailers from Monday. “Apple has confirmed that the retailers will get enough stocks but unless we get it in our hands I cannot tell you how much supply we are going to get,” said Nilesh Khalkho, CEO of Sharaf DG.

Neelesh Bhatnagar, CEO of Emax, and Mahesh Chotrani, assistant vice-president at Jacky’s Electronics, confirmed the announcement.

An industry source had told Gulf News that the telco operators did not allocate enough stocks to the retailers as they [operators] want customers to buy from them. Even after the retail stocks went dry, the telco operators were still selling at their outlets.

All the retailers’ stocks were sold out within one hour of the sale on Saturday itself.

“There will be a mad rush tomorrow but pre-booked customers will get priority,” Bhatnagar said.

All the retailers had started pre-bookings again on Saturday to keep Apple fans happy.

Nadeem Khanzadah, head of retail at Jumbo Electronics, said that majority of the sales happened on the iPhone 6 as the supply of iPhone 6 Plus was very limited.

The official Apple Store in the UAE started taking orders for the new phones from Saturday with free shipping.

The new iPhones come in gold, silver and space grey. The prices on Apple’s website for the iPhone 6 Plus are Dh2,999 for the 16GB model, Dh3,399 for the 64GB model and Dh3,799 for the new 128GB model.
