Dubai: Forty thousand years of human evolution starting with cave paintings and visual communication through drawings continues to hold sway.

The World Press Cartoon (WPC) competition is about the power of illustration, a place where words are superfluous and beyond barriers.

Gulf News has scored yet again among the thousands of entries by coming in the category of Honourable Mentions, along with having several entries by our Design section being featured in the accompanying hardback published by WPC.

Cartoons go where very few words can travel … we present the Gulf News works that have been selected.

Nino Jose G. Heredia, a Gulf News illustrator, said: “We are happy that most of us got two (out of) three categories. To my surprise, I found out that my illustration under editorial was chosen for another Honorable Mention. Last year was under caricature. It’s been an honour to be part of WPC Top 25."
