Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) said on Wednesday it has attracted 267 new companies from 48 countries around the world over the first half of 2017, marking a 6 per cent increase year-on-year.

In the first half, Jafza also leased more than 340,000 square metres of space to various sectors. Companies from the Middle East accounted for 59 per cent of the new companies joining Jafza, followed by Asia-Pacific companies (20 per cent), European companies (13 per cent), and North American and African companies (4 per cent each).
