Dubai: A number of airlines are offering special airfares, some as low as Dh244, in celebration of the UAE National Day.
Among the latest to jump into the craze, flydubai announced that it is giving away 44 per cent off flights from Dubai starting Wednesday.
“Book your flight in economy class between 10am and midnight on 02 December 2015 to travel between 02 December 2015 and 31 March 2016," the company said on its official website.
The airline did not announce on which destination the offer will be available, citing that the list will be known only on Wednesday at 10am.
Indian carrier SpiceJet is also offering one-way fares starting as low as Dh244. The Dh244 special price is applicable to travel from Dubai to Mumbai, Kochi and Kozhikode. For Dubai flights to Delhi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Madurai and Pune, base fares can be had from Dh344.
Tickets can be booked on www.spicejet.com, online travel portals and through travel agents.
"Our customers can expect many more flights and many more exciting offers in the coming months," said Ajay Singh, chairman and managing director of SpiceJet.
“The National Day sale will [start] from 29th November, 2015 till 3rd December, 2015 midnight, and the travel period covered in this sale is from 1st February to 29th October, 2016. The offer is for outgoing direct flights from Dubai to Indian destinations served by SpiceJet,” the company said.
Etihad Airways had earlier kicked off its own “National Day Sale” with fares for 44 dest inations costing as low as Dh1,225. However, the offer, which is valid for travel from 15 January until 31 May 2016 closed on 28 November 2015.
