Dubai: Etihad Airways said on Monday its holding company and the airlines it holds stakes in would support 108,000 jobs in the United States and contribute to $10.7 billion to the country’s economy this year.

That figure is based on aircraft and other purchasing deals, the amount spent by passengers carried on Etihad flights and also by airlines it holds equity stakes in, according to consultancy Oxford Economics.

Etihad said it would operate 4,700 flights to the US this year, carrying around 1.2 million passengers.
