Dubai: Air services provider dnata, part of Emirates Group, said on Wednesday that it has made two new appointments to its senior management team.

Steve Allen will take over as Divisional Senior Vice-President, UAE Airport Operations, and Mark Gibb has been appointed as Senior Vice-President, dnata Safety and Standards. Gibb is responsible for dnata’s safety culture globally and the company’s One Safety programme.

Allen has 15 years of experience in British Airways, and helped design Heathrow’s Terminal 5. He joined dnata in 2008 as Vice-President Operations, and then moved to lead the Performance Development department in 2011 as Senior Vice-President. He led a number of major change programmes across the group, including the ongoing design for Phase 2 of DWC. Allen is also part of the Emirates Group Innovation board, and currently serves as a board member at two UAE-based group companies, Transguard and Plafond.

Before joining dnata, Gibb held senior leadership roles in the energy sector, most recently with Veresen and before that with Nexen and Shell. He was accountable for safety across sites in North America, North Africa, Middle East, Asia and Europe as well as in start-up, operational and growth businesses.

Globally, dnata operates in 83 countries across six continents and is one of the world’s largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and in-flight catering.
