What do you think about dietary supplements and how can I take them  so that they are effective?

Supplements are almost always a blind shot except in clinically relevant situations that present clinical signs and symptoms of a deficiency of vitamin B or A etc. Other than vitamins, minerals, trace elements etc., all other new generation supplements are based on some hypothesis, which means most of them have not gone through the randomised clinical trials.

Before reaching out for a supplement, make sure it doesn’t exceed the daily intake dosage and that it is what it claims to be by looking for the certification. Have them with your morning meals for better absorption and do not take too many in combination.

I personally believe one needs excellent digestion to absorb nutrients from any source. If your digestion is hampered, work towards fixing it and reconfigure your diet by including a variety of vegetables, fruits and juices to meet your body’s nutrition deficits.

What would you suggest to stop acid reflux?

There are a few golden rules to reduce acid reflux. Never eat late at night, opt for an early light dinner instead, like a soup. Have small frequent meals, and never start your day with fruits and citric juices, try opting for warm oatmeal porridge instead; Avoid acidic fruits, so oranges and lemons are out, and consume alkaline fruits such as avocado, melon, banana, apples, berries etc. Also be sure to chew your food well and move around after every meal.
