Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has started implementing two state-of-the art technologies that aim to ensure the safety of newborns in Dubai and Latifa hospital.

The first system aims to protect newborns by technologically linking them with their mothers and the hospital so that if someone attempts to move the baby without authorisation the mother and hospital will be alerted.

The second system helps  monitor the oxygen levels in the child’s blood and alerts the mother and staff if the levels drop below the normal rate.

His Excellency Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of DHA, said the authority aims to enable hospitals, health centres and clinics to offer the best services by providing them with the latest smart technologies.

Al Qatami made the statement at the graduation ceremony of the second batch of nurses from DHA hospitals at Latifa Hospital. He stressed the importance of constantly training and enabling health caregivers and specialists and upgrading
their skills in order to provide quality services that achieve customer satisfaction.

Al Qatami said mother- and child- care is a pivotal target of the authority’s 2016-17 strategy.  It is planning to implement a number of initiatives and programmes that aim to benefit mothers and children in all DHA facilities.
