The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in cooperation with Johnson’s Baby launched an initiative on UAE National Day themed A Gift for My Baby on National Day. The initiative included giving away baby car seats to each newborn in Dubai hospitals to secure babies’ safety onboard.

Ghanim Abdullah Lootah, Director, Marketing and Corporate Communication at DHA confirmed that the importance of this initiative is part of the DHA trend to ensure the utmost safety and security levels for the community. Latifa and Dubai Hospitals of DHA contributed towards the initiative as well as the Baraha Hospital of the Ministry of Health, and eight other private hospitals including American Hospital and Al Zahraa.

Smart clinic held for people of determination

Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) smart clinic discussed DHA services targeting people of determination in light of the International Day of Persons With Disabilities on December 3. The day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains derived from the integration of those with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life. 

During the clinic Dr Latifa Al Rustamani, Head of the DHA People of Determination Services Office, said that the authority aims to inspire people of determination to be vital members of the workforce by providing an array of services that aid them in their work place and daily lives. 

Dr Al Rustamani said the DHA People of Determination Office oversees all services and policies related to people of determination, such as developmental screening and early screening programmes. She added that the office ensures fast-track services and that the DHA facilities are accessible to people of determination at all times.

DHA to host visiting doctors in December 2017

Aimed at providing specialised medical care to Dubai, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is hosting visiting doctors from Canada, Belgium, the US and Turkey. The ongoing programme sees the DHA hosting visiting doctors on a monthly basis to provide consultation to patients in highly specialised medical fields.

Visiting doctors at Dubai Hospital include consultant urologist, Dr Dean Sol Elterman from Canada, who will be available at Dubai Hospital from December 13 to 14, and consultant, general surgery, Dr Tollens Tim Omer Maurice, from Belgium, who will be at Dubai Hospital from December 16 to 18. Visiting doctors at Rashid Hospital include consultant of neurology, Dr Bashar Katirji from the US, who will be available at Rashid Hospital from December 17 to 21.
