Abu Dhabi:  UAE citizens will be able to visit Ukraine without pre-entry visas from December 31, 2017.

The UAE and Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect on November 2.

Ahmad Elham Al Dhaheri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said UAE nationals who want to visit Ukraine will no longer need pre-entry visas.

“Emiratis carrying ordinary passports can stay up to 30 days on each visit with no pre-entry visas, while holders of diplomatic passports can stay up to 90 days on each visit,” Al Dhaheri said.

He said the initiative by the Ukrainian government reflects the UAE’s internationally recognized position, and highlights the growing relations between the two countries and encourage travel and tourism.

Al Dhaheri emphasized that the move would open up wider horizons and new avenues of cooperation in various domains for the two peoples and countries.
