Riyadh: Arab Coalition forces fighting to restore the legitimate and internationally-recognised government of Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi in Yemen have abided by international law for war time conduct, the Joint Incident Assessment Team, has confirmed.

JIAT Spokesman and Legal Adviser Mansour Bin Ahmad Al Mansour said his team had investigated all allegations involving the Coalition’s operations — against the military sites used by Iran-backed Al Houthi militias and forces loyal to ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh — and the conduct conformed to International Humanitarian Law standards.

In comments to the Saudi Press Agency he said that coalition forces have targeted ballistic missile launching sites used by Al Houthis but did not target the Al Sabeen Maternity Hospital, which was claimed by Al Houthi media.

He accused Al Houthi and Saleh militias of occupying sites adjacent to hospitals.

Al Mansour emphasised that Coalition forces used precision-guided bombs.

The JIAT report also revelaed that several foreign military advisors were present with Al Houthi militants when they took over the Al Zaydiyah security building and as a result the building lost its legal protection as prescribed in international conventions.
