UAE National Anthem performance

GEMS students, staff and parents make a world record attempt for a UAE National Anthem performance by over 100 nationalities, at Gems Wellington Academy, Dubai Silicon Oasis, 10am on December 1.

The Dubai Mall

Exhibitions include Watani (UAE history), at Star Atrium; the Arabian Pearl Exhibition, on the early days of pearl diving, traditional tools used and clothes worn, from November 28-December 6, at The Souk Atrium; UAE ancient jewellery display, November 27-December 3 at Concourse 1 and 2, Ground Floor. A kids’ parade featuring over 40 Emirati children, all dressed in the UAE flag colours, will march through The Dubai Mall’s ground floor reciting the National Anthem on December 1 and 2 from 4-8pm.

 

Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa

Celebrations from December 1-7, with an illuminating display across the dunes of the desert.

 

Meydan Hotel

Synchronised laser projection around the grand entrance, 7pm-midnight, December 1-3.

A laser show at the JBR Walk, 7pm-midnight, December 1-3.

 

Dubai Outlet Mall

Extended hours (10 am- midnight) December 1-3 with entertainment including Ayala dancing, Arabic music, a live painting exhibition in UAE flag colours under the theme of “MY UAE” by UAE-based artists on December 2 and a treasure hunt.

 

Citywalk

Al Ayalla and Al Yolla dancers, LED jugglers from Friday, face painting on and fireworks at 10pm on December 2.

 

Abu Dhabi

Fireworks

Choreographed red, green and white colours at 9pm on December 1-2 at Khor Al Maqta and Abu Dhabi Corniche, and at the Shaikh Zayed Heritage Festival stage, Al Wathba, on December 2. The Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Al Ain explodes into life on December 2-3, at 9pm, and fireworks will also be held in Al Gharbia, Madinat Zayed Park, and the public parks on Delma Island and Al Sila’a, on December 2nd at 9pm.

 

The Galleria, Al Maryah

Entertaining, cultural and family-friendly activities from November 27-December 7. Comedian Bin Baz, Abdul Azziz Baz will meet fans for photos on November 27 and 28 from 8-9pm. Emirati graphic designer Fahad Jaber Abdulla will show his work on Level 1, December 1-7. Plus: a live art installation hosted by Anood Obaidly and luxury delights from Godiva.

 

Nitro Circus

The show will do a UAE National Day tribute with a two-hour FMX and BMX stunt show at Zayed Sports City on December 5, 8-10pm. Tricks will also be performed on skates, scooters, a rocking horse, a Barbie car, kids’ tricycles, a bath tub, a Lazy-boy couch, boogie board and more. Tickets from Dh149, at TixBox.com.

 

National Day concerts

Fayez Al Saeed and Aryam perform at Shaikh Zayed Heritage Festival stage, Al Wathba, on December 1, 9pm. Aida Al Menhali and Fatima Zahrat Al Ain headline the following night. Madinat Zayed Park will see performances by Hala Turk, Moudad Al Kaabi, Rowaida Al Mahrouqi and Adel Ibrahim on December 1 and 2.

Delma Island’s public park welcomes Saoud Bou Sultan and Eisa Abdulla, while the public park in Al Sila’a plays host to Youssef Al Omani and Hessa on December 2.

All concerts start at 9pm.
