Dubai Emirates eGovernment has budgeted Dh150.36 million between the years 2012-2014 as part of a major Federal eGovernment strategy to improve the UAE's global competitiveness and enhance eTransformation, a top official said.

"By implementing these initiatives we aim to contribute towards achieving the UAE Vision 2021 which drives the UAE to be one of the best countries in the world and the UAE Government Strategy 2011-2013 that aims at putting citizens first and developing an accountable and innovative government," said Salem Khamis Al Shair Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General for Information sector and eGovernment, TRA.

The initiatives and projects are part of the Federal eGovernment Strategy 2012-2014 which chart out the course of action for Emirates eGovernment.

Innovative, cost effective

He said the ultimate objective of Emirates eGovernment is to provide the government services through innovative channels in a time and cost effective manner.

The next phase of transition will involve the government delivering its services and information through different channels such as the internet, fixed and mobile phones and kiosks besides the traditional service centres.

He said UAEPedia will be launched in April in Arabic and later in English.
