Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said that the resolution of Kashmir dispute and all other outstanding issues with India is vital for regional peace and stability.
According to an official statement, Gilani made the observation during a meeting with the premier of Pakistani zone of Kashmir, Sardar Atique Ahmad Khan.
Gilani said Pakistan would continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiri brethren till the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
The lingering issue needs to be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people as enshrined in the United Nation resolutions, the prime minister said. The foreign ministry said Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee would visit Islamabad on May 21 and a day before that Indian foreign secretary Shivshankar Menon will be here for talks with his Pakistani counterpart. The two sides would chart out the course for a new round of bilateral talks under the comprehensive dialogue process.
