Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, allocated a grant of Dh1 million for stadium upgrades that were carried out in Ajman's Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Stadium.

The grant was used to install an electronic display screen and develop the visitors' section and service areas in the stadium, which was built in 1981 with the help of a grant provided by the late Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

The new upgrades and developments bring the stadium in line with standards set by the Asian Football Federation.

During a visit to Ajman Club, Dr Ahmad Sa'ad Al Sharif, Secretary-General of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), inspected the completed upgrades.

To ensure the implementation of Shaikh Hamdan's grant, a follow-up team that included members from DSC and Ajman Club was formed. Al Sharif said that the upgrades were completed quickly and in line with Shaikh Hamdan's orders, which stem from the leadership's keenness to improve all aspects of life in all emirates.

Khalifa Al Jarman, Chairman of Ajman Club, extended his sincerest thanks and gratitude to Shaikh Hamdan for the grant, pointing out that it comes within the leadership's keenness to develop the sport sector.
