Dubai: Aspiring footballers can benefit from English Premier League standard tuition for just Dh15 an hour at Sharjah Football Club's Soccer School, with pathways into professionalism locally now all the more likely.

Sharjah's first-of-its-kind Soccer School was launched in conjunction with Libra Education in November 2010 and can boast qualified English Premier League academy and community coaches spread across numerous educational facilities in the emirate, with support from Bolton Wanderer's Institute of Sport and the latest expert training techniques from Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) coaches.

At Dh900 a term, with five hours of training and play a week, it works out to Dh90 a week or Dh15 an hour.

Community engagement

Sharjah's scheme works out far cheaper than other international schemes based in the region and aims for greater community engagement and connection with members set to become part of the club either as fans or prospective future players.
