Abu Dhabi: Dubai Club have become a thorn in the side of Diego Maradona, Al Wasl's head coach, as they demolished his team 3-0 in a 13-minute blitz yesterday in the Etisalat Cup to take second place in Group A with 12 points.

It was the third victory for Dubai over Al Wasl this season. Following a goalless first half where Al Wasl were clearly the better team, Dubai came to life in the 74th minute when Hassan Mohammad headed home a cross from Nicolas Marin, then Simon Feindouno added the second after 11 minutes with a 22-metre shot which Rashid Ali failed to intercept and Hassan Ali completed the damage only two minutes later following a fast counter-attack that caught the home defenders napping.

Meanwhile, holders Al Shabab made strong inroads in Sharjah's vulnerable defence and continued their sole leadership of Group B with 16 points after winning 3-0.
