Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum will compete in the 2012 London Olympic Games this summer after winning a pair of bronze medals at the Asian Shooting Championship on Tuesday.

Shaikh Saeed was third in the individual skeet competition and was also part of the UAE team that won bronze in the team event. His success means he will accompany Shaikh Juma Bin Dalmuk Al Maktoum, who also qualified for the Olympics after winning gold in the double trap event three days ago.

Shaikh Saeed finished third in the individual skeet with 146 points, as Qatar's Nasser Al Attiyah won gold with 150 and Kuwaiti Abdullah Al Rashidi silver on 147.

Shaikh Saeed had defeated both the shooters twice last year — in the ISSF World Cup final in Al Ain in October, and in the Arab Games in Doha in December, when he won the individual gold on both occasions.

Shaikh Saeed and his teammates, Mohammad Hassan and Saif Bin Futtais, dedicated their team victory to the leaders of the UAE and to General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Adviser to the National Security Council and President of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, for their continuous support to youth and sports in the country.
